LovellNutrition
You are an organic system made up of billions of cells working in harmony to survive and thrive through the stresses of life. Each cell is organized into different functioning groups within this system to provide specifically designed responses, such as; waste management and pollution control, transportation and delivery (delivery within the system and mobility of the system), data delivery and storage, etc. However each cell, regardless of its specialty, has basic nutritional needs to provide the energy required to perform their function properly. Nutritional balancing focuses on these cellular needs understanding that healthy and responsive cells make for a healthy and responsive system.
For over 40 years, the science of Nutritional Balancing has been researched to determine how mineral patterns found through Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), relate to conditions in the body and their relation to minerals, vitamins, diet, etc. This research has led to an understanding of how minerals are utilized by the cells and how diet can affect these levels. With this information we can design a diet specific to your needs and recommend the necessary supplements to balance the cellular mineral levels. When mineral balance is improved, proper functioning of the cell is achieved correcting many of the health conditions we experience such as diabetes, obesity, and fatigue issues.

Introduction to Hair Mineral Analysis
Our approach to nutritional balancing is to look at the body as a complete system rather than try to zero in on particular conditions or illnesses. To do this, we consider what is happening at the cellular level. If the function of the cell is not performing at optimum efficiency, then the individual system these cells make up become inefficient which in turn affects the entire body.
To get an overview of the entire system at the cell level we run a hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA). This is a soft tissue mineral biopsy which determines the mineral content of the hair. Testing is done by Analytical Research Labs in Phoenix, AZ. using the Perkin Elmer Elan 9000 ICP Mass Spectrometer to assess mineral levels in parts per million or parts per billion. A hair tissue mineral analysis is considered standard testing and used around the world for the biological monitoring of trace elements and toxic metals in human and animal species. Frequently asked questions concerning the hair analysis can be found here while information about the controversies of hair testing can be found here.
What can be determined from hair analysis?
Minerals are sometimes called the “sparkplugs” of the body. They are needed for millions of enzymes as co-factors, facilitators, inhibitors and as part of the enzymes themselves. As a result, they have a great deal to do with the health of our bodies. By analyzing mineral imbalances in the body, one can learn a lot about the causes and correction of hundreds of common physical and mental health conditions.
The information gained from this test provides a mineral blueprint of your biochemistry which allows for the determination of:
-
Metabolic rate (oxidation rating)
-
Whether energy levels are adequate and sustainable
-
The level and type of stress you may be laboring under
-
If there is an adequate utilization of sugars/carbohydrates which affect energy and other metabolic conditions
-
Glandular activity (adrenals and thyroid)
-
Immune function
Coupling this information with your personal profile, which includes a typical daily diet, medications and supplements you take and symptoms you may be experiencing, allows us to provide a personalized diet and supplemental program to speed corrections of your mineral patterns.
